Suicide Silence have moved quickly to calm concerns about their future after founding guitarist Chris Garza announced a temporary break from live performances. Longtime guitarist Mark Heylmun has now spoken openly to fans, making it clear that the band’s forward momentum and touring plans remain firmly intact.

Garza revealed in late 2025 that he would be stepping away from the road for a period, while stressing he is still a full member of the group he co-founded in 2002. The news naturally sparked questions among fans about what comes next for the deathcore heavyweights. Heylmun addressed those concerns head-on with a detailed and personal message.

Reflecting on nearly two decades with the band, Heylmun emphasized his deep-rooted commitment to Suicide Silence, noting that while he didn’t found the group, he has helped shape nearly every release since joining in 2005. He also shared why he briefly stepped away in 2019 to care for his father during a battle with cancer returning later to help write what would become Become The Hunter.

Regarding Garza’s hiatus, Heylmun made his stance clear: the decision is fully supported and respected. At the same time, he underlined that Suicide Silence has always functioned as a united, five-piece force and that the band has no intention of slowing down.

To cover Garza’s role on stage, Suicide Silence have enlisted Ian Waye of Soreption as a touring fill-in for upcoming European and Asian dates. Heylmun praised Waye’s precision, power, and technical ability, promising fans that every show will still deliver the intensity and firepower the band is known for.

Garza also addressed fans directly when announcing his break, explaining that after more than two decades of nonstop focus on Suicide Silence, he simply needs time to reset and gain clarity for the future. He reassured listeners that everything is fine and hinted strongly that his return is only a matter of time.

For now, Suicide Silence are pressing ahead at full speed, signaling that while lineups may shift temporarily, their commitment to the band’s legacy and live impact remains unshaken.
