Rising nü-metal band Silly Goose is turning to its fans for help after frontman Jackson Foster was arrested during one of the group’s signature guerrilla-style performances — this time staged in the parking lot of a BP gas station in Chicago. Foster was charged with criminal trespass and is now seeking financial support via GoFundMe to hire legal representation and protect his ability to tour internationally.
Just days after taking the stage at Lollapalooza on July 31, the band took their DIY ethos to the streets — literally — by performing an unsanctioned set from the roof of their van near the festival site. The location: a BP station outside the grounds. Foster claims they received verbal permission from the station manager, who agreed to a one-hour show in front of pumps two and four in exchange for $100.
However, mid-set, police intervened. Although the band ceased playing immediately, Foster was arrested on the spot and taken into custody. He spent the night in jail and now faces a trespassing charge. The band has since set a fundraising goal of $8,000 to cover anticipated legal expenses.
“We’d just played Lollapalooza — it was unforgettable,” Foster wrote on the band’s GoFundMe page. “To keep the momentum alive, we set up a show outside the festival, with the manager’s okay. We even did the same thing last year. But when the cops showed up, none of that mattered. I was cuffed and taken away with hardly a word.”
Foster emphasized that no one was harmed during the performance and that the band complied immediately when authorities arrived. The primary concern now is clearing his record so Silly Goose can continue to perform abroad without legal barriers.
The band continues their 2025 tour across North America and Europe, with dates alongside acts like LANDMVRKS, Novelists, Resolve, Hot Milk, and Cassyette.
