Calva Louise Blend Spanish Flair with Deathcore Intensity on Bold New Album

It might sound unusual at first deathcore with a Spanish twist but Calva Louise make it captivatingly real. The genre-blurring trio have just unleashed their fourth studio album, Edge Of The Abyss, which dropped on July 11 via Mascot Records. It’s a daring and expansive exploration of what modern deathcore can become.

Across eleven carefully crafted tracks, the band weaves a dark, often eerie metalcore tapestry. Layered within are distinct nods to Spanish musical roots, from haunting classical guitar passages to delicate piano flourishes. Adding to the experimental edge are bursts of EDM and techno, seamlessly integrated into the chaos.

Coinciding with the album release, Calva Louise premiered a new music video for the track “Impeccable.” This video continues a narrative thread that runs throughout the album cycle  a surreal, sci-fi world imagined by frontwoman Jess Allanic during her teenage years. Each visual installment brings her vivid concept to life, chronicling the adventures of characters that may or may not be alternate versions of the band themselves, exploring both fantastical landscapes and grounded, emotional struggles.
