Wolfgang Van Halen Unable to Join Black Sabbath’s Final Concert Due to Creed Tour

Wolfgang Van Halen has confirmed that he will not be able to participate in Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert on July 5 due to prior touring commitments with Creed. His band, Mammoth WVH, is set to hit the road as part of Creed’s “Summer of '99” tour, which kicks off just a day later.

Speaking with WRIF radio, Van Halen explained: “Unfortunately, I had to step back because the Creed tour starts the next day. There’s just no way I could make both work. I’m really excited to see it all come together, but sadly I won’t be able to be there.”

The “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert, taking place at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5, 2025, will mark the final performance of Black Sabbath and a personal goodbye from Ozzy Osbourne. The event is especially historic, as it reunites Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward on stage for the first time in about two decades. Proceeds from the concert will go toward Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

Meanwhile, Creed’s summer tour continues to grow in scope. The band recently announced new dates, featuring special guests Mammoth WVH, Daughtry, and Hinder. The tour begins on July 9 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, and will run through the end of August, covering numerous cities across North America.
